So, I never liked dominos growing up. I am still not sure
that I like them but they intrigue me. Something about seeing those rooms full
of dominos that someone has carefully set up tumbling over each one hitting the
next and falling in a deafening cacophony of wood on wood. It reminds me of one of the principals that I hope
guides my life. We all stand or fall together and while it is so elemental it
is easy to forget. Take a moment to day
and look at a significant person in your life. Think about if you were to fall,
how they would catch you and how you stand or fall together. Perhaps you can
tell them, were in this together- please put away the myth that you are alone. Then
if you can take a moment and look out the window at people walking by or crowds
of people on TV or in a photo. You are bound to them too. It’s easy to hate a
crowd but harder to with a person. A person who has a name, a birthday, a
mother and father – scars on their knee from learning to ride a bike – wounds that
they carry so deeply that they think no one can see them – hopes that they hold
like a handful of water with a goldfish inside.
In short, someone like you.
Your moment of Zen
